'Summer' Fun!
Tabea brought her beautiful rabbit, Summer, to school today. The children loved having an extra classmate with us throughout the day.
Rooms 3 and 4 had their first Te Reo Maori lesson with Sherrilee this morning. We sang some waiata and learned some action words like: E tu - stand up, and E noho - sit down. Sherrilee also read us a story about feelings. We are going to learn to say how we feel in Te Reo Maori.
During Maths time we worked co-operatively to complete puzzles. We are really great at working together.

Amazing Maths Problem Solving in Room 3
Today we worked with Mrs Wallace (Cara) to solve the following problem:
Mother Bear wanted to make a new coat for each of her 3 bear cubs. If each coat needed 3 buttons, how many buttons did Mother Bear need altogether?
We were able to use equipment (pictures of bears and stickers) to help us solve the problem. We were then able to count the stickers and discovered that Mother Bear would need 9 buttons altogether.
Fantastic problem solving Room 3!
